Bordeaux : a smart city

While in Bordeaux, it's hard to imagine that this sophisticated city was once called the "Sleeping Beauty" of France. A major revitalization project, which has lasted more than a decade, has transformed Bordeaux into a thriving destination worth exploring. The city as a whole is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

If you are visiting Bordeaux, it is effortless to understand its appeal. The Garonne River, with its renovated riverside path, winds through the city, historical sites are accessible on foot, and there is plenty of local wine to drink. There's something for everyone... doesn't it?

New attractions are always emerging and there are plenty of great restaurants, pastry shops, bars, and cafes to keep you entertained. The only problem is choosing exactly what you can squeeze into your trip to Bordeaux.

If you like art and culture, Bordeaux has a myriad of museums, each with a different theme! The most famous is La Cité du Vin, the interactive wine museum that opened in 2016. But with museums like the Natural History Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Science Museum, and the Maritime Museum, there are bound to be at least a few to lure you in.

Cathedrals, museums, monuments, parks, shopping, wine and restaurants… and much more, Bordeaux has it all.

So what are you waiting for? Pack your bags and get ready to be amazed. And don't forget that our Montempo Bordeaux residence, which is located less than 10 minutes from "la cité du Vin", is ready to welcome you.
